Buy Radio Today a Coffee
You’ll also find a magical little button on the Radio Today website, www.rt1485.com, called Buy Me a Coffee. All you have to do is click that link, and you can make a teensy-weensy, tiny little donation to help maintain the station.
Simply click the Buy Me a Coffee link, and you can buy us a cup of coffee for as little as R20. Honestly, I don’t even know where in Johannesburg you can still get a decent cup of coffee for 20 bucks. But you know what? Radio Today Johannesburg doesn’t run on advertising.
We made a conscious decision a while back – we don’t want advertising interrupting our line-up. This aligns with international trends, where people are subscribing to streaming or online services for as little as R50 or R100 a month just to avoid commercial interference. And from our side at Radio Today, we feel the same.
We don’t want to have to preach the company line just because an advertiser tells us to. And I think regular, loyal, devoted listeners already know: one of the hallmarks of Radio Today Johannesburg is our passion, our enthusiasm, and our gloriously distinctive lack of commercial interference.
Unfortunately, we still have operating expenses. (Passion doesn’t pay for bandwidth!)
So, if you’d like to make a contribution, head on over to the Radio Today website: www.rt1485.com. You can literally buy us a cup of coffee. It’ll only cost you R20. You can also buy us lots of coffees! That could be R200… R2,000… or if you’re feeling really flush, even R20,000 worth of coffee.
You’re under no obligation. You can buy us coffee every day of the week. You can buy us coffee once a month. You can even buy us coffee once a year. Whatever works for you.
Oh, and just so we’re clear, I was going to say we don’t want cheap coffee… we want good coffee. But I’m not speaking for the other Radio Today presenters. They might be perfectly happy with a humble R20 cuppa.
Anyway, I’m not going to tug at your heartstrings. I’m not even going to tug at your purse strings. The choice is entirely yours. But as we all know, South African brands and publishers never really have a budgetso, truthfully, we’re going to have to look after the station ourselves.
That’s why we’re asking our loyal, devoted, coffee-loving listeners to support us whenever and wherever they can.
